So is Disney transnational?
As a business, Disney’s primary purpose is to make money. It has become the most well known company worldwide and has managed to maintain that status since the creation of Mickey Mouse in the 1920s. It’s managed to achieve this by reaching a global audience, attracting them with films about their culture to speak to them specifically, all the while never straying from their own ideologies and culture. They manage to incorporate their own culture into another in order to create a multicultural film. In addition to this, the company has invested in some foreign businesses, therefore making the company itself transnational, as well as making transnational films and reaching to a transnational audience. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Walt Disney Company is, in fact, a transnational production company.
